• Student Mentoring:
  The teachers of the Department of Botany are specialized in different areas of the subject. After a thorough discussion the department has assigned one teacher as “Lead Teacher” considering his/her specialization and experiences on a particular CORE COURSE/SKILL ENHANCEMENT COURSE/DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC ELECTIVE COURSE to teach along with others and to look after the overall academic progression of the said course. To meet the demand of the CBCS Curricula we have also assigned a teacher as a MENTOR for a certain number students of a particular semester.

• Student Seminars:
  The department organizes ‘Student seminar” keeping in mind the process of “microteaching” as a learning tool. Students of 3rd and 5th semester participate and present topics what they study in their curricula. Different aspects of plant sciences are covered starting from the origin of ancient plant life to plant genetic engineering. Few of them went beyond the syllabus which points towards the level of their enthusiasm.
  Questions are asked during the interactive part. All the lectures are subject to review by the teachers. Besides commenting on the technical aspects of the lecture viz. the content and the quality of the slides, teachers also made suggestions on mode of delivery, how to handle questions, gestures etc.

• Student's Magazine/Wall Magazine/Poster Presentations:
  The department of botany provides a platform in the form of wall magazine named "CALYX" where students can display their artistic works including photography, drawings and paintings, any piece of informative and interesting news relating to plant science and beyond to share with their fellow students. Through this initiative an opportunity is offered for the upliftment, recognition and inspirational motivation to the students in literary and artistic development.
